Subject: hoppy’s thoughts on obama…….

This week we got a look at the Obamas. A good look.
Michelle Obama’s comment that, for the first time in her adult life, she feels proud of America. These words should help those, who may have had any vague assumptions, know with clarity in who Barack Obama really is. First, let me say, the wife of a candidate is completely at liberty to have views that are unique from her spouse’s. But on an idea that is so inherent to one’s personae as love of nation and country, it is unseeming to conclude that Michelle Obama would openly twice make such a declaration implying disdain for America unless she knew it was supported by her husband’s own views.
So, to me, it’s without irony that her comments align perfectly with the hate-America litany of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama’s minister, friend, and personal inspirer of more than twenty years. On the Sunday after Sept 11, Wright characterized the terrorist attacks as a consequence of erroneous American policies. A few years later, The Reverend implied that the attacks were retribution for America’s racism. “In the 21st century, white America got a wake-up call after 9/11/01,” Wright wrote in his church magazine Trumpet. “White America and the Western world came to realize that people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just ‘disappeared’ as the Great White West kept on its merry way of ignoring black concerns.”
And this ‘reverend’ would be counsel to President Obama? How does Billy Graham look now?
And to top it all off, Wright has been a key supporter of Louis Farrakhan, yet another hate monger. Furthermore, in December, he honored the Nation of Islam leader for lifetime achievement, saying he “truly epitomizes greatness.” Farrakhan has repeatedly made venom-filled statements targeting Jews, whites, and even America itself.

And yet, Obama doesn’t distance himself from his radical, racist preacher. Nor will he question Wright’s praising of Farrakhan. Obama sympathetic to muslims? Say it aint so! In her speech in Milwaukee, Michelle Obama said plainly, “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country, and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change.” And what has been wrong with America up to now? That it gave Michelle the opportunity to attend Princeton and Harvard Law School? That it gave Barack Obama the chance to attend Columbia University and Harvard Law School and become a U.S. senator making more than $1 million a year from book royalties? Woe be the plight of the down-trodden!
Let’s not kid ourselves. Does anyone think two of the people most intimate with Obama could openly make anti-American statements unless Obama himself felt that way? If so, you’re a goofball of the first order. Obama, up to this day, has shown himself to be nothing more than a great orator. Which would make the statements of those around him even more important in illuminating his actual agenda. During his Senate career, he skipped nearly 20 percent of floor votes and sponsored only one bill that actually became law. That bill was to promote “relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.” What a stellar record of accomplishment…..starting to see a pattern yet? I’m reminded of ‘where’s the beef’. Thoughts of JFK, RFK, MLK? Yeah, right…..the Kennedys took on the mafia, Hoffa, and Kruschev. Berlin. PT boats, civil rights, Memphis/Birmingham………Obama who?
And what does a man without any real accomplishments do for attention? Obama has stood out mostly by being against measures that protect American security. He’s against finishing the mission in Iraq. Leave Iraq quickly? Obama promises he would. Thus giving a place for al-Qaida to plan new attacks on the U.S, Israel, and Europe.
Hope? Change? I’d like to know what I’m supposed to like about his campaign? 3rd trimester abortions? Gun Control? More taxes? Socialism? Racist preachers? Quitting in Iraq? Negotiating with terrorists?
Thanks, but I’m not buying. I’m voting McCain.
